Care Guide: Preserving Extra-Fine Merino & Cashmere

Natural animal fibers possess a natural protective coating called lanolin. Over-washing with harsh chemical detergents strips this oil, rendering fine wool brittle and prone to pilling.
Instead of frequent laundering, air out your Merino sweaters on flat mesh drying racks out of direct sunlight. A cedar block in your wardrobe natural repels moths without chemical odors.
When washing is necessary, submerge gently in tepid water with olive-oil based soap. Never wring or twist.
