The Art of Waxed Cotton: Sourcing British Millerain

In the rain-slicked mills of Rochdale, England, weatherproofing isn't an engineering problem—it's an heirloom craft passed down through five generations of textile weavers.

When we set out to build the THREADS Field Jacket, we knew conventional synthetic coatings would degrade into microplastics within five seasons. British Millerain wax cotton, by contrast, patinas and self-heals under warmth.

The wax formulation penetrates deep into the long-staple cotton fibers, creating a breathable yet impenetrable shield against gale-force wind and sudden downpours.
